A delivery driver was captured fully committing to the hilarious instructions left on an order by a customer – and viewers said he earned every penny of the tip.
When ordering food online, the additional information box is usually reserved for people to flag allergies they have with the kitchen staff, or to give help to the driver to find their address.
But one customer decided to try their luck by requesting something a bit different, and the clip has been viewed more than 1.8 million times on TikTok.
User @Kfresh420kickit shared a screenshot of his receipt, showing that under the instruction to leave the food at the door, he had added: “Knock a cool beat so I know it’s you and not a bad guy.”
Filming through the front door spyhole in hopeful anticipation of the now viral clip, it shows the driver reading the instructions on his phone before hammering a steady beat on the door and belting out the instantly recognisable melody to Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes.
The surprise inclusion of vocals to the performance left viewers in stitches, as one commented to say: “You better have tipped that man so much his pockets overflowed.”
And someone else added: “He knew the assignment and aced it.”
The driver’s flawless execution has now set the standard for others, as viewers vowed to try adding the instruction to their next order to see if the performance could be matched.
He’s not the first driver to come good on a bizarre delivery instruction after an Amazon worker was caught on a doorbell camera fulfilling the request sneaked onto an order by a young boy that left his mum baffled.
Lynn Staffieri was expecting a parcel to arrive, but had no idea her son had added an additional instruction reading: “Knock on the door 3 times and scream abra cadabra as loud as you can and run super fast away.”
Incredibly, the video shows the driver scream the magical phrase before leaping off the porch and sprinting back to her van exactly as instructed.
